There are just two days left to nominate deserving women for this year’s business awards
The PARO Centre for Women’s Enterprise is gearing up for its 2024 summit and is seeking nominations for deserving award winners.
Taking place Nov. 12 in Thunder Bay, the PARO Summit is a day-long event featuring keynote speakers, a fireside chat, a tradeshow, and the Women’s Choice Awards ceremony that evening.
Keynote speakers include Anna Sinclair, the founder and CEO of Total Mom Inc., and Maria Parysz, the CEO and owner of Elephant AI.
The Women’s Choice Awards are designed to recognize the outstanding contributions of women in business and organizations who have made a significant impact in their communities.
Awards will be given out in seven categories:
Artemis Award: the award goes to a woman or organization who demonstrates excellence in creating positive social or environmental impacts, or an outstanding social enterprise that has made impactful, innovative and sustainable contributions to women and children.
Mooka’am Kwe She Rises Indigenous Women Business Award: The award celebrates successful, accomplished and committed Indigenous women.
Trailblazer Award: the recipient is a woman who is demonstrating that there is a space and a place for women in male-dominated fields, or has successfully challenged a world of work or industry typically occupied by males.
PARO Circle of the Year: This award recognizes a Peer Lending Circle’s efforts to give back to each other, to PARO, and to their community.
Rising Star Award: A Rising Star is a current woman leader or an aspiring future leader who is starting out in business with a successful and notable track record for less than three years, has built-in eco-friendly practices, and is quickly rising through the ranks.
Business of the Year Award: This award recognizes a woman’s business with a successful and notable track record for three years or more. A woman who has established a business, taken financial risks, managed the business successfully, and given back to the community.
Making it Happen Award: New this year, this award will go to a woman who has successfully used technology solutions to improve the efficiency of her business, reduce operational costs, and make her customers’ experience more seamless.
There are just two days left to send in nominations. The deadline is Sunday, Sept. 22 at 11:59 p.m. Nomination information is available here.
Event attendees will vote on their pick for each award, and winners will be announced the night of the awards.
