Health Sciences North event will discuss challenges and solutions that will shape the future of healthcare.
Health Sciences North (HSN) and Health Sciences North Research Institute (HSNRI) in Sudbury is hosting a digital speakers’ event to discuss the future of artificial intelligence (AI) in health care.
The event is part of the HSN and HSNRI’s Strategic Plan Speaker Series. The event, which is to be held on Aug. 1, is called “Digital Solutions for HealthCare: How Artificial Intelligence will Shape Healthcare with Purpose”.
A promotional article about the event said health care is evolving and so are digital frameworks.
“As we continue to move into the digital age, purposeful use of digital tools like artificial intelligence will be a key enabler of data quality, research, healthcare delivery, health human resource utilization, and much more. We want to explore where this can take us,” said the article.
Roxana Sultan, chief data officer and vice president of health with the Vector Institute in Toronto, will be the key presenter at the event to discuss priorities, challenges and innovative solutions that will shape the future of digital transformation in healthcare.
She was described as the person who leads Vector’s data and technology strategies, as well as Vector’s contributions to Ontario’s and Canada’s health AI sector, said the company website.
Sultan has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the Ontario health system, including with the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in the University Health Network, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), The Hincks-Dellcrest Centre (now “SickKids Centre for Community Mental Health”), Cancer Care Ontario, and the Hospital for Sick Children, said the website.
Sultan also holds an Adjunct Professor appointment with the University of Toronto in the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, where she teaches at the graduate level on the topics of intelligent medicine and machine learning.
Registration for the event is available online.
